NORMAN – Blake Griffin’s status for a Big Monday showdown with Kansas remains uncertain, but the Oklahoma star’s condition is improving, according to his parents.

Griffin suffered a concussion in the first half of Saturday night’s 73-68 loss at Texas and played just 11 minutes – none in the second half.

Results of a routine MRI performed early Sunday morning returned clear. But Griffin still faced more follow-up diagnosis today before any decision could be made concerning his availability for the game against Kansas.

The Big 12’s leading scorer and the nation’s top rebounder, Griffin was limited to two points and three rebounds at Texas.

The cause of the concussion still isn’t clear and might have been a culmination of two different shots Griffin to took to his face – one by 6-foot-10, 300-pound Texas center Dexter Pittman and another by Longhorns point guard Dogus Balbay.
