Basketball has brought throngs of people downtown this month, and Bricktown is the first place that comes to mind when considering possible dining destinations.

Why not, with such standouts as The Mantel, Nonna’s and Mickey Mantle’s within a few steps of each other and just a short walk from the Ford Center and Cox Convention Center? Not to mention Chelino’s, The Melting Pot, Zio’s, Jazmo’z, Coach’s, Pearl’s Crabtown and Bolero, to name a few.

With an NCAA Women’s Regional in town this week, potential parking snarls and wait times could be daunting. Never fear, there’s much more to downtown dining than Bricktown.

Drive a little north up Broadway and you’ll run into Red Prime Steak, the crown jewel of A Good Egg Dining Group’s cadre of upscale eateries. Just around the corner from there is the reborn Iguana — this time a Mexican grill rather than a lounge. Chef Ryan Parrott and his partners have resuscitated one of the city’s most eclectic spots to much acclaim.

Go northeast from Bricktown and you’re bound to stumble upon The Deep Deuce Grill and The Wedge Pizzeria.
