What happened: Adreion died at the hands of Patrick Darnell Phillips, his mother's boyfriend. Phillips told authorities Adreion had been injured falling off the bed and in the bath tub, but Phillips was convicted of first-degree murder Nov. 10 by a Garfield County jury. Prosecutors had presented evidence Phillips abused the boy, causing his fatal head injuries.
