What happened: Bailey was stabbed to death by her 32-year-old former boyfriend at SH 152 and Owen Street in Mustang, following a short police chase. Robert Paul Roberson, a former drill instructor at the alternative school Bailey attended, went to the girl's apartment and abducted her at gunpoint after threatening to kill her sister and friends if she didn't cooperate. A Yukon officer and Canadian County deputy shot Roberson to death when they saw him stabbing Bailey.
Other: Bailey and her father, Darin Thrasher, filed a police report five days before the murder that accused Roberson of having sex with her and two other students at the alternative school. Darin Thrasher described his daughter as outgoing and a loving free spirit. “The shock of something like (her death) can hold up real good for a while. A little over a year is nothing.”
