Name: Corey Benton

Age: 17

Place of residence: Guthrie

Died: April 3, 2008

What happened: Corey's body was found next to the Grace Rescue Mission by one of the Oklahoma City mission's residents. He had gunshot wounds to his abdomen, left thigh and left arm. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, but it remains unsolved.

Other: Corey's parents described him as a “big teddy bear” who loved football and history; sold curbside address paintings; and wanted to join the military like his father. “Somebody stole him from us. ... We are all trying to learn how to live without Corey's physical being,” his mom, Pamela, said in December. “He's a character, he really is — he really was,” said his father, retired Sgt. 1st Class James Benton.
