What happened: Hunter and his two sisters were killed in a fire at their home June 23, 2006. His mother, Rita Carpenter, received third-degree burns on her arms and hands. Hunter died in the accidental fire of smoke inhalation and burns. The fire stated after lightning struck her home in a heavy thunderstorm.

Other: Ed Chapel, a state fire marshal, said, it looked like lightning may have hit it pretty hard, causing the house to totally burn down. Neighbors earlier said the mother was running down a dirt road with her face covered in black soot.
