What happened: Raven Byrd and her brother and sister were killed in a fire at their home June 23, 2006. Her mother, Rita Carpenter, received third-degree burns on her arms and hands. Raven died from smoke inhalation and burns she received in the accidental fire. The fire stated after lightning struck the family's home in a heavy thunderstorm.
