Name: Michael Contway

Age: 13

Place of residence: Chandler

Died: Dec. 30, 2008

What happened: Michael, a student at Davenport schools, died one day after a friend accidentally shot him in the head with a .22-caliber revolver while playing. Michael's great-grandfather said Michael's parents gave him the revolver for Christmas. Michael was carrying a .380 automatic pistol when he was shot, investigators determined.

Other: Under Oklahoma law, someone who gives a pistol to a child can be charged with a misdemeanor. District Attorney Richard Smothermon, however, decided not to charge anyone.
