AUDIT ANGERS SUPERINTENDENT
JENKS — The superintendent of the Jenks School District said the federal government is auditing his district because he supported a bill that would change oversight of standardized tests in Oklahoma. He said the federal "compliance review” audit comes about a month after a fellow superintendent warned at a United Suburban Schools Association meeting that anyone who supported Senate Bill 1111 could be audited. State schools Superintendent Sandy Garrett said her agency can’t request audits and likely a parent in Jenks asked for it.

TULSA — Russell Mounger of Sapulpa, who had both his legs amputated after a two-week stay in the Creek County jail, has settled a lawsuit against the county for $2.7 million. Mounger claimed in a federal lawsuit that his jailers didn’t give him his medication and put him in a restraint chair for extended periods during his time in jail in 2007. Within a month after he was booked into jail, both his legs had been amputated because of medical conditions.
