Oklahoma got a pair of verbal commitments from the state of Texas on Tuesday in 4-star offensive guard Adam Shead of Cedar Hill and 3-star wideout Sheldon McClain of Cibolo, Rivals.com reported.

They are OU’s eighth and ninth verbal commitments for the 2010 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound Shead chose the Sooners over Texas Tech, though he had offers from a host of other schools, including Colorado, Miami and Texas A&M. McClain (6-2, 175), who caught 26 passes for almost 500 yards last season, selected OU over Utah, SMU and Texas A&M.
