Oklahoma County District Judge Kenneth Watson has denied Fisher's request for early release, his defense attorney said today.

The attorney, Bob Wyatt, said he was notified of the decision Wednesday. A hearing set for today was cancelled.

Fisher on March 2 began serving six months at the private facility. He is on a work-release program there.

He was sentenced after he pleaded no contest in February to accepting bribes. He will be on probation for another four years and six months after his release. He also must complete 150 hours of community service.

Fisher, 69, earlier spent about 14 months in state prison on a campaign-corruption case.

As for house arrest the bracelet the gave him malfunctioned all of the time, when he called in no one seemed to know how to solve the problem. There are transcripts of the hearings if any of you silly people care to read them. It is pitiful that John Grisham had to come to our state to write a book about our system. This is pure politics and you fall for it.

I think it is time that some light was shed on this. We are talking about $1000 that was paid back. This is a pure bunk. The trials were a joke. The Attorney General accepted over $30,000 for the same than and and wrote $13,000 worth of checks on it during the trials of Carrol Fisher. Ditto for our Governer. Both said they did not know it was illegal to accept this and gave the remainder to charity. The man that gave the donation is a scum ball when it comes to Carrol Fisher but, severl of our representives and senators hot footed it to his home in Dallas for a weekend of entertainment last fall. You people are beign duped by the Oklahoman and our Attorney General. Mr. Fisher had to pay for his ankle bracelet (what other person has to do this) he pays to stay in the release center. $45 dollars a day. Over a $1000 that was repaid? You better questions in all of this is whoes toes did he step on? As for hiring him, there are plenty of out of state companies that want him. This is exactily the reason Oklahoma looks like a complete state of stupidity to outsiders. Go after the AG if you want to really want to have something to sit this state on it's ear.

The bigger picture that's being missed is that he's only doing 6 months for swindling our state. What a shame.

Good. The man knows nothing but breaking the law. He couldn't even do house arrest without violating those terms. He needs to serve his full term.
