SHATTUCK — The 2009 edition of the Shattuck Indian football team has the opportunity to make history. Shattuck enters this season nine wins away from tying Morrison’s long-standing record of 90 straight wins.

The Indians also could win their seventh straight title, tying Morrison for the consecutive state titles record.

"We don’t talk about it,” Shattuck coach Troy Bullard said. "We get ready each week for each game and play hard on Friday and see what happens.”

Entering this season, Shattuck has won 81 straight games and has won six straight state titles.

"People don’t appreciate how hard it is (to win that many games),” Forgan coach Doug Bowles said. "It’s been an unusual run, and they have great talent and a lot of tradition.”

"They’ve had tough games, but they come out on top, I think nobody over there wants to be the first to lose.”

If Shattuck blazes through its schedule in its normal, dominating fashion, the Indians can tie the record on Oct.
