District loaded with equally talented teams
The small disparity in talent between teams in District A-3 last year was apparent, as schools knocked each other off week after week. Six teams had five or less wins, and only two had more than seven victories.

This season looks like it could play out the same way.

"Our district has been crazy the last couple of years,” said Snyder coach Robert Babcock. "Last year there were about seven teams in the district that were about equal in talent and those games could go either way. I see that being a real possibility again.”

Apache, which went 7-4 last year, was the pick of the coaches to win the district even though Snyder (10-2 in 2008) and Hinton (9-2) had the most success last year.

"Apache should be in the driver’s seat with all those kids coming back,” Babcock said. "Both Hinton and our team lose almost their entire starting lineups.”

Snyder lost 13 starters, but returns standout receiver/defensive back Keegan Stucks, a senior, and junior quarterback Miles Baker.

Burns Flat-Dill City has high hopes
Burns Flat-Dill City ended 2008 on a nine-game losing streak, four of which were shutouts.
