"He’s doing better,” OSU coach Mike Gundy said. "We probably won’t work him out until after the scrimmage (on Saturday). One reason is we want to make sure he’s up and running when he gets back. The No. 2 (reason) is this is good teaching and learning experience for these other guys.”

Brandon Weeden and Alex Cate are battling for the backup quarterback job. Robinson’s absence has allowed Gundy to get a closer look at both backups and select a clear-cut No. 2.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

The OSU players and coaches ended practice by singing happy birthday to Gundy, who turned 42 on Wednesday. When asked if he feels any older he said: "Actually I feel a lot younger. I went on a little longer run today just to make myself feel better.”
