Oklahoma and Ohio State may be mired in bowl slumps. But neither comes close to other famous bowl slumps in college football history:
Bear Bryant’s Crimson Tide failed to win a bowl in eight tries, though did tie OU in the 1970 Bluebonnet, 24-24; two of ‘Bama’s losses came in national championship games.
Starting with a 42-8 loss to OU in the Orange Bowl, the Razorbacks lost seven straight bowls.
Bo Schembechler lost his first seven bowls with the Wolverines, including five Rose Bowls.
Before the Cornhuskers dominated the 1990s, they struggled, losing seven straight bowls, including one national title game.
→Notre Dame 1995-07:
The Fighting Irish finally ended a nine-bowl losing streak by defeating Hawaii 49-21 in the Hawaii Bowl last season.
