Oklahoma and Ohio State may be mired in bowl slumps. But neither comes close to other famous bowl slumps in college football history:

→Alabama 1967-74: Bear Bryant’s Crimson Tide failed to win a bowl in eight tries, though did tie OU in the 1970 Bluebonnet, 24-24; two of ‘Bama’s losses came in national championship games.

→Arkansas 1986-98: Starting with a 42-8 loss to OU in the Orange Bowl, the Razorbacks lost seven straight bowls.

→Michigan 1969-78: Bo Schembechler lost his first seven bowls with the Wolverines, including five Rose Bowls.

→Nebraska 1987-93: Before the Cornhuskers dominated the 1990s, they struggled, losing seven straight bowls, including one national title game.

→Notre Dame 1995-07: The Fighting Irish finally ended a nine-bowl losing streak by defeating Hawaii 49-21 in the Hawaii Bowl last season.
