Oklahoma State sophomore Jamal Mosley appears to be the favorite to start at tight end for the Cowboys. But the 6-foot-4, 254-pounder from Memphis, Tenn., admits he still has work to do before he becomes the threat Brandon Pettigrew was at the position.

"I’m basically still learning the position,” said Mosley, who played quarterback in junior high before moving to tight end in ninth grade. "As a quarterback, you don’t do any dirty work. I liked (tight end) because it is a tougher position. I’m one of those guys that likes to get in there and get a little nasty.”

Mosley saw action in 11 games and had five catches for 57 yards as a true freshman in 2008.

Pursuing Georgia peaches
Recruiting is yet another reason the season opener with Georgia on Sept. 5 at Boone Pickens Stadium looms large.

Five current OSU players are from the Peach State, including senior cornerback Maurice Gray, running back Beau Johnson, redshirt freshman defensive end Nigel Nicolas, true freshman fullback David Paulsen and true freshman linebacker LeRon Furr.
