MAPS 3 will include $130 million for public transit, including five to six miles of downtown streetcar lines, commuter rail lines and a downtown transit hub which will link the streetcar, rail and bus systems.
Another $130 million will go toward a 70-acre downtown park. The park's north edge will be a future boulevard which will replace the existing Interstate 40 Crosstown Expressway when it moves south. The park will stretch south to the new I-40 and across the new highway to the Oklahoma River.
Mayor Mick Cornett has compared the park to Discovery Park in Houston, Millennium Park in Chicago and Centennial Park in Atlanta.
