→Who will start at QB for the Sooners against Miami?
It’s still a bit of a mystery, but expect coach Bob Stoops to clear the air as early as Monday, or as late as Wednesday. He wasn’t pleased about details of Bradford’s return to practice leaking outside the practice field, so any details outside of, "Landry Jones will start,” or "Sam Bradford will start” would be a bit of a surprise.
Bradford trekked to Birmingham, Ala. over the weekend to visit with Dr. James Andrews, one of the most respected sports surgeons in the world. ESPN reported that Bradford hoped to receive clearance to play from the visit, but no concrete details of their meeting have become available.
Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said Bradford would need to practice for several days, but not necessarily the entire week, to start against Miami.
→How much of the luster of Oklahoma’s game against Miami has been lost?
A bit on the national stage, but the Sooners need a win badly.
Against the best defense he’s seen this season, Miami’s sophomore quarterback Jacory Harris completed just 9 of his 25 passes in an embarrassing 31-7 road loss to Virginia Tech. He gets a bit of a pass, considering the Hurricanes’ loss came in a downpour and his receivers had several drops, but the defense he’ll face next week ranks No. 1 in scoring defense and No. 5 in total defense.
Even though Miami won’t be in the top 5 when they host the Sooners, the game will still be a broadcast on ABC in primetime with a split national broadcast, and a win by the Sooners would look great.
