OSU football notebook: Andre Sexton gigs the Aggies

Cowboys linebacker Andre Sexton was a South Texas star, named Houston Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Year as a senior at Cypress Falls High.

Yet, Texas A&M didn’t offer Sexton a scholarship. Maybe it was a timing thing, since Sexton committed to OSU early. Still, the snub has remained with the Cowboys senior.

"I always have an extra chip on my shoulder when I go play them, just because of that,” Sexton said.

Not that Sexton would have ended up in College Station.

"I was always a UT guy at heart,” he said, "so that maroon just doesn’t sit well with me.”

MILLER TIME
Texas A&M leads the Big 12 — and ranks fourth nationally — in sacks, dropping enemy quarterbacks 16 times this season.

Von Miller, who plays a hybrid linebacker/defensive end role for the Aggies, leads the charge with an NCAA-best nine sacks.

"The guy is very good,” said Cowboys coach Mike Gundy.
