Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant
and Jeff Green
are locks. Thabo Sefolosha
is the leading candidate to start at shooting guard. Nenad Krstic
and Etan Thomas
are competing for the center vacancy, but Nick Collison
could be an option.
"My philosophy on roles is to play hard when you’re in the game,” Brooks said. "We have a lot of different lineups we can throw at teams. A lot of guys can play two or three different positions.”
Brooks said it would mistake to label Thomas as the tough defender and Krstic the offensive counterpart.
"It’s still competitive,” Brooks said. "I’ll make that decision when the time comes. I like what they both do. Nenad is not a bad defender. He doesn’t look like he jumps very high, but that doesn’t make him a bad defender.
"Most of the great defenders don’t jump high. They get position and get into the player and frustrate you. Nenad is a good position defender.”
Once he makes a decision, Brooks said he won’t constantly change starting lineups.
"It’s hard for any player to go into the lineup game to game,” Brooks said.
