DALLAS — The scene was too familiar: Oklahoma's Heisman-winning quarterback hunched over, his helmet on the turf, gingerly reaching for his right shoulder.

Playing musical chairs with an inconsistent offensive line produced the same result six weeks earlier in the very same city: a sidelined Sam Bradford.

On just the second drive of Oklahoma's 16-13 loss to Texas, the degree of difficulty for Sooner offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson drifted upward with one hit.

Though the retooled offensive line played well enough to keep No. 20 Oklahoma within reach of the No. 3 Longhorns, it couldn't keep Bradford on the field.

And with Bradford out, senior offensive lineman Brian Simmons sidelined and their best receiver returning from injury, OU's offense stalled for much of the game against a smothering Texas defense.

"It's been a different year. We haven't had a lot of these," said coach Bob Stoops. "There's no denying we've had a lot to overcome. You talk about injuries, but it's when they're to the guys that they were, that's the hard part. But it doesn't matter. We've got a season to play."
