Fresh air, at last
It's the first warm day of the year that you really need air conditioning, but as soon as you turn up the cold air there's a smell . . . a really foul stench, actually. According to the Justice Brothers, Inc., based in Duarte, Calif., the odor is most likely produced by organisms - fungus, mold and mildew - living deep withing the core of your cold-air system. To kill the germs and return a fresh scent to the environment, the company recommends using its AC-Clean bacteria killer that also uses a mild scent to let you know it's working. Getting AC-Clean, which comes in a handy spray can, into your AC ducting will depend a bit on the vehicle, but instructions are included for any do-it-yourselfer. Justice Brothers has many other useful automotive products at www.justicebrothers.com or you can call 800-835-8784.
