Point/counterpoint: Will Nebraska win the Big 12 North with an upset of OU?

Berry Tramel: Nope, the Huskers won't win the North if they beat the Sooners. Nebraska will in many ways salvage their season with an upset, but I don't think that will be enough to win the North.

Jake Trotter: If the Huskers knock off OU, they will win the North. Who's going to finish ahead of them? Time to give up on your Colorado Buffaloes. The only team with a chance is K-State. And Nebraska gets them in Lincoln.

Tramel: Nebraska still goes to Kansas and Colorado. And while K-State indeed goes to Lincoln, K-State also gets Missouri and Kansas at home. So the Wildcats remain in the driver's seat.

Trotter: Kansas and Colorado are in shambles. All Nebraska would have to do is beat K-State, then split those two road games and the North would be theirs. Not exactly a gauntlet.

Tramel: "All" Nebraska would have to do is win two of three against KU, CU and KSU? That's a tall order for a team that lost to Iowa State. If the Huskers beat OU, they will be in much better shape. But K-State still controls the North.

Trotter: The Iowa State loss was a fluke. Any team that loses the turnover battle 8-0 should lose the game by 60. Nebraska lost by two. Nebraska's defense is the best thing going in the North. And with a win over the Sooners, the Huskers will not only control their destiny, but get the North's other contender in Lincoln.
