The board approved preliminary plans for renovation work on Central Middle School. Plans call for the renovation of more than a dozen of the school’s classrooms and the construction of a 6,000-square-foot addition that will house two new classrooms.
The renovated classrooms will receive new carpet, SMARTboards and fresh paint and some of the school’s hallways will receive new light fixtures. Several rest rooms also will be renovated to be handicap-accessible.
School officials said the work will be done in three phases with completion planned for in 2011. It will be paid for from previously approved bond funds.
