LUBBOCK, Texas — Freshman center Ben Habern suffered a broken fibula midway through the second quarter and will miss the rest of the season.

Habern was injured on a short run by Chris Brown and had to be helped off the field.

"I just felt so bad for him," said quarterback Landry Jones. "When I saw his leg I knew he was hurt."

Junior Brian Lepak replaced Habern at center.

"He played good, I have total confidence in him," Jones said. "Snaps were great all night."

Habern makes three offensive linemen currently injured. Senior Brody Eldridge and sophomore Jarvis Jones will miss the rest of the season with injuries.

"I'll be praying for Ben, I know what it's like," said senior offensive lineman Brian Simmons, who returned to the lineup in Saturday's 41-13 loss after missing five games with a knee injury.
