Julian Wilson has helped lead the SaberCats to an 11-1 record and into the Class 6A semifinals. The Oklahoma commit is one of the top lockdown corners in the state.
Tuesday, Wilson talked about his season to this point, what comes next and why the west hasn’t been able to break the east-side stranglehold on the 6A gold ball. You were highly recruited, but you chose to commit to Oklahoma. What was the main reason you chose OU? "The reason I chose OU was that it’s real close to home and they compete for the national championship every year. And, when you play at OU you get good exposure to the NFL. "I gave all the schools I took recruiting trips to the same consideration. But when OU offered, I couldn’t say no to that.” Southmoore has gotten a lot of media attention this season, both good and bad. Has that had any effect on the team? "We did get a lot of publicity — even before the season started. But we came out and lived up to the hype. And that’s made more people want to talk about us and write about us.
