In my first issue as editor of LookAtOKC, you will see multiple references to the rebirth of 105.3 FM “The Spy,” and please do not confuse this enthusiasm for vacant cheerleading. Understand this above all else: when radio stations die, they die with a period, not an ellipsis. Sure, some dead stations carry on in a shadowy online afterlife, but listening to such streaming Internet vestiges is often like attending an extended wake. No one, least of all the disc jockeys valiantly pushing on, believes that things will ever be as good as when that station was broadcasting, sending out its sounds from tall towers of light on the city limits.
