From 1983 to 1991, the University of Miami steamrolled through college football in winning four national championships (1983, 1987, 1989 and 1991). Arguably the dirtiest college football program ever — on and off the field — the Hurricanes won with a swagger and cockiness that will never be matched.

Despite racking up 202 yards in penalties, the Hurricanes routed Texas 46-3 that day.
"We were the (Muhammad) Alis of that era,” former Miami defensive back Bennie Blades said. "Not only are we going to beat you up, we’re going to talk to you while we’re beating you up.”
"I didn’t want a bunch of guys on my team that are bankers or a bunch of guys on my team that are lawyers,” said former Hurricane tight end Jeremy Shockey, who is from Ada.
