Sunny skies and temperatures above freezing are expected to melt some of the accumulated snow in Oklahoma on Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to reach in the mid to high 30s on Saturday, National Weather Service meteorologist Kevin Brown said. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with some clouds moving in from the north during the day.
“There will be some melting with the sunshine, if the clouds increase, that’s going to limit a little bit of the melting, but as long as we can keep nearly full sun, there should be a fair amount of melting today, especially if we rise in the 35 to 40 degree range,” Brown said.
Snow flurries across southern Kansas could move into the northern third of the state, but no accumulation is expected. Winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour could also cause some snow drifting across roadways, Brown said.
Saturday night should be clear with a low near 19 degrees. Sunday is expected to be dry and sunny with a high near 34 degrees and northwest winds between 5 and 9 miles per hour.
Rain and snow chances return on Tuesday, with a 40 percent chance of rain and snow Tuesday night. There is a slight chance of rain and snow on Wednesday and Friday, the service said.
One runway of Will Rogers World Airport is operational spokesman Mark Kranenburg said.
The state Emergency Management Department expects to receive more information about statewide damages and costs on Monday, said spokeswoman Michelann Ooten.
Injuries and fatalities
Six deaths have been attributed to weather related accidents due to the storm.
A woman in Midwest City died Saturday when a car she was a passenger in hit a slick spot and crashed into a truck in the 1500 block of Douglas Boulevard, Police Chief Brandon Clabes said.
