Snow will begin across western north Texas and southwest Oklahoma early this afternoon and spread north and east.

The storm system should reach the Lawton area by about 2 p.m., and will reach areas from Clinton to Durant before hitting the metro, according to the National Weather Service.

Snowfall will continue northeast to the Alva and Ponca City areas by about 8 p.m., forecasters said.

Scattered accumulations of one to two inches are possible late today and tonight throughout southwest and central Oklahoma.

Meteorologists predict that most of the snow will fall along and northwest of Interstate 44.

Farther east the snow is expected to mix with rain during the afternoon, but accumulations up to one inch are still possible.
