→For all the talk Zydrunas Ilgauskas will return to Cleveland in 30 days if Washington buys out his contract, other teams, including Atlanta and Denver, could be interested in making an offer if Ilgauskas becomes available.

Josh Howard’s play has diminished. But one reason why he might have been traded was Howard partied so hard Jan. 19 he needed intravenous fluids and was unable to play a Jan. 20 game. Dallas officials announced Howard didn’t play that night because of a stomach illness.

→Orlando small forward Rashard Lewis on Cleveland acquiring Antawn Jamison: "It doesn’t scare me. We’re the team that knocked them out last year because of matchup problems. They’re trying to correct those things.”

Richard Jefferson was supposed to be the key addition in San Antonio. But behind the scenes Jefferson is being called Efferson (no J for jump shot). The Spurs reportedly shopped Jefferson before the trading deadline but found no takers.

→Shooting guard Kevin Martin has been reunited in Houston with coach Rick Adelman, who coached Martin his first two seasons in Sacramento. Interestingly, Martin averaged 7.8 points in two seasons under Adelman but has averaged 22.4 points the 3 1/2 seasons since Adelman was fired.

→Indiana reportedly was close to trading T.J. Ford and shooting guard Brandon Rush to Charlotte for D.J. Augustin, Gerald Henderson and center Nazr Mohammed. Insiders say the Bobcats declined at the deadline.
