An Oklahoma City company ranked last year in Inc. magazine’s Top 500 list of the fastest growing companies said it will add 250 jobs through the state’s Quality Jobs program.

The Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program provides quarterly cash payments of up to 5 percent of new taxable payroll directly to a qualifying company for up to 10 years. Since the program’s debut in 1993, the state has issued more than 555 contracts to locating, expanding and startup businesses, and paid out more than $602 million in performance-based wage rebates.

CSI, which provides information technology, advice and assistance and engineering and professional services for government projects, is in growth mode, said David Mitchell, the company’s vice president of operations.

CSI’s push to secure contracts will increase its need for several high-end technical positions, including IT specialists, software developers, systems, network and architectural engineers and program managers, Mitchell said.

Salaries for those newly created jobs range from $50,000 to $120,000.

Like the company, the jobs are based here, although CSI does have employees in several other states and military bases.

"We’re consultants to the government,” he said, and that takes workers to different sites.

"All our work is structured around the government contracting world,” the company official said.

Mitchell even believes the 250-job projection is somewhat conservative.

"We’re continuing to build our capabilities, and we see a big opportunity for us to bring high-quality jobs to Oklahoma,” Mitchell said.

CSI had 160 employees and $7 million in business in 2008. It will qualify for $7.1 million in rebates from the state.

Also joining the program in February was The California State Automobile Association Inter Insurance Bureau, better known as AAA Auto Club, which plans to add 725 jobs at its new northwest Oklahoma City customer contact center.
