As a journalist, I get hundreds of e-mails each week pitching story ideas. One recent public-relations pitch caught my eye. The subject line read "Carry-on charges leading to more nudists?”

Hmmm. An interesting concept. Could nudist resorts benefit from airline fees for checked luggage and Spirit Airlines’ newly announced fees for carry-on bags? It’s possible.

"All you need for a nude vacation is a towel, sunscreen, a hat, tennis shoes and a toothbrush,” said Carolyn Hawkins, quoted in the linked AOL story. She’s the public relations coordinator for the American Association for Nude Recreation in Kissimmee, Fla.
