OU football bests
→Best freshman: wide receiver Kenny Stills

Fellow Golden State freshman Tony Jefferson came in with most of the hype, but Stills has been the most impressive true freshman thus far.

→Best hitter: linebacker Ronnell Lewis

Quinton Carter can also lay the hammer, but the true "Hammer” is Lewis, who some Big 12 kick returners still have nightmares about.

→Best moves: running back DeMarco Murray

You won’t see many of Murray’s moves during the spring game, since he’s expected to be kept on the shelf.

→Best improvement: defensive tackles Stacy McGee and Casey Walker

The two have turned into a pair of run-stuffers this spring.

→Best leader: linebacker Travis Lewis

With so many young players around him, Lewis has taken on and embraced a heavy leadership responsibility, on and off the field.

→Best wheels: slot receiver Ryan Broyles

Good luck covering this speedster, who boasts legit 4.4 speed, if not better.

→Best mind: safety/cornerback Jonathan Nelson

The Sooners are asking Nelson to be able to play two positions; lesser minds than Nelson wouldn’t be able to handle that kind of mental burden.
