Friday's tip time uncertain

Tip time for Game 6 ON Friday in the Ford Center won't be determined until later this week. Game time will be influenced whether three other series — Orlando-Charlotte, Atlanta-Milwaukee and Denver-Utah — extend to six games. Those series also are scheduled Friday night.

Durant's maturation

Kevin Durant has averaged 26.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the series and gained national attention for his defensive play on Lakers star Kobe Bryant in Game 3.

“You can see he's figuring things out,” Bryant said. “He's a helluva basketball player. On top of being physically skilled, and doing all the things he can do, he has a high basketball IQ.”

Thunder coach Scott Brooks said Durant's defensive improvement is overshadowed by his offense.

“I've told him many times if you're going to be a special player you have to be able to do it on both ends of the court,” Brooks said. “Defensively, it's not easy to do it every night... Kevin understands the importance of him doing the defensive thing every game is just as important as him scoring points.”
