"I had never really been that big of an NBA fan. I'd watch some playoff games here or there, but overall, it didn't do much for me. When the Hornets came, I was able to go to a couple of games but still didn't really get into it.
"When the Thunder came, for some reason, it was different. Maybe it was the whole ordeal between Seattle and OKC that caused my Oklahoman pride to swell up, or maybe it was merely because I knew this team wasn't going away. Either way, I went to quite a few Thunder games last season and got into it quite a bit.
"This season, after realizing fairly quickly how much this team had improved, I really bought in hook, line and sinker. I was able to go to a lot of games thanks to my friend getting tickets from work. Any game I couldn't attend, I would watch on TV.
"Because of my friend's work connection, three friends and I were able to score playoff tickets. The experience was indescribable. I've been to football games at LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, OU and OSU and was courtside when OSU knocked off KU this year, but none of those venues were as loud as the Ford Center was during Games 3 and 4. Not even close. It was so loud you couldn't even hear the refs whistle; you would have to wait for the players to stop moving before you realized that a foul had been called.
"I did yell myself hoarse. Hit the Halls hard after each game. Halls would be a good sponsor to have. They should have handed those out along with the towels and T-shirts."
