"As a 60-something grandmother and almost life-long OU football fan, I never cared much at all about pro sports. They seemed to be over-paid whiners, and I never wasted an evening or Sunday afternoon watching them.
"The Thunder has convinced me otherwise.
"I was only fortunate enough to attend one of the home games, and I was hooked. We sat way up high, about four rows from the top. There's so much more excitement when you're there as opposed to watching on TV — Rumble dropping from the ceiling, the booming of the big drum, the Thunder blue shirts everywhere, the dancers, the deafening crowd noise, the 'don't sit down until we score' thing. There's something going on every minute you're there, and it was a fabulous experience for me.
"I watched every one of the playoff games on television and wished I were there, even staying up late until they were over and being sleepy the next day at work. The way they played in those games made me so proud. They never quit. They kept coming back.
"Now, I'm a fan, not just a casual observer."
