Online social network Meetup.com helps people with similar interests meet for fun, socializing and more. Oklahoma has 154 Meetups unified by interests, such as parenting, exercise, language and dance.

If you are a wine lover, newly single, an entrepreneur, photographer, writer, small-dog owner, ghost chaser or you want to learn to salsa dance or speak Spanish, German or French, there is a Meetup for that.

Oklahoma City metro area has 154 Meetups unified by common interests, such as The Yukon Stay At Home Moms, the Oklahoma Kettlebells in Edmond, dedicated to the use of the Russian kettlebell for exercise, and the Educators of Liberty in Norman.

Andrea Foster, a professional astrologer who has studied metaphysics for more than 40 years, leads the 150-member Oklahoma City Law of Attraction Meetup.

"Before I moved to Oklahoma two years ago, I wanted to have a group of friends ready and waiting for me, so I started a metaphysics Meetup, a writing Meetup, and joined a social group,” Foster said.

The Law of Attraction is the law of the universe, Foster said.

"It’s all in the laws of physics ... it also can encompass things as mysterious as prayer, affirmations, intuition,” she said.

After discovering ballroom dance, Betty Norman, of Oklahoma City, was looking for something a little more exciting.
