Picnic celebration on the wild side
→Birthday: Dudley Hyde celebrated his birthday at the
Oklahoma City Zoo with family members, law firm friends and members of his running group, hiking group and holiday group. Wife Sue Ann Hyde was hostess for the event, which began in the Education Building. Cocktails were served, and a video about cougars and wolves was shown. Dudley had recently purchased a sculpture of a pair of wolves and a cougar.

→Attire: Cougar casual and wolf wear.
→Invitation: It stated that guests "howl” a reply (RSVP) and "grrr … no gifts please.” Cocktail glasses were printed with "Hyde's Wild Side.”
→Dinner: The group rode a Zoo Tram to the picnic area, viewing the animals along the way. Picnic baskets were filled with "Pioneer Woman Cookbook” fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and other picnic foods. Dessert was sugar cookies shaped like wolves. Jamie Bramble played the guitar after dinner.
→Special touch: Sue Ann Hyde invited the sculptor of the cougar and wolves, and his wife, Ken and Monica Rowe, Sedona, Ariz., to attend the event. He talked to the guests about his artwork.
→What: Polly and Larry Nichols invited Prix de West supporters for dinner in Prosperity Junction, the Old West Town at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. They took a special tour of museum treasures in the vault led by new curator Anne Morand. Larry Nichols was recently elected chairman of the museum.
→Guests: Jose Freede, Cathy Freede, Charles Bowen, Lela and Mark Sullivan, Beth and Ed Wells, Marnie and Clayton Taylor, Ann and Bill Johnstone, Meg and Chris Salyer, Charlotte and John Richels and Kathi and Chuck Schroeder.
