NORMAN — Teens are invited to a murder mystery lock-in Friday at Norman Public Library, 225 N Webster Ave.
The lock-in begins at 11 p.m. and ends at 7 a.m. June 19. Participants will solve a mystery, enjoy a late night dinner and participate in a costume contest and other activities. Drop-off will begin at 9 p.m. Teens can hang out in the library's game room until the lock-in begins, spokesman Christian Potts said.
Once the evening gets under way, teens will be assigned roles, including characters such as James Joyce, Isadora Duncan, T.S. Eliot and Mae West. They will be asked to discover what happened to H.G. Wells, who had been testing his novel's time machine at a soiree when he was discovered dead in the bathroom.
The event originally was planned for March but was postponed because of a snowstorm. The lock-in is open to ages 12 to 17. Participants need to turn in signed permission slips ahead of time. The forms are available at the library's information desk.
For more information, visit the library or call teen librarian Rebecca Spence at 701-2681.
