LAWTON — Lawton football coach Randy Breeze said he believed he had at least 10-12 players that could sign to play football, including several at the Division I level.

With the season still more than two months away, he's being proven right. Wide receiver Tyrequek Zimmerman committed to Oregon State on Tuesday night, becoming the second Lawton player to commit to a Pac-10 school.

"They've showed a lot of interest from the beginning,” Zimmerman said. "They throw the ball a lot. They also said once I get there, I'm definitely going to be able to play.”

Zimmerman had offers from eight other schools and said South Carolina and Texas Christian were the other two schools he was considering.

Zimmerman was being recruited as a wide receiver and a defensive back and will play WR for the Beavers.

Zimmerman had 54 catches for 945 yards and 11 touchdowns last season to go with 69 tackles and one interception defensively.

"He can put on a show on offense or defense,” coach Randy Breeze said. "I don't think people realize how strong he is, though. He's a unique talent.”

Lawton's Jabral Johnson committed to Arizona in February.
