Beginning today, Executive director Joe Robertson's salary increases to $121,885 from $105,000 a year. The board, which is made up of private attorneys, approved the pay increase in a unanimous vote during its June 18 meeting.

Robertson said his salary is now on par with what chief public defenders in Tulsa and Oklahoma counties make. State law requires county public defenders to be paid a salary comparable to what district attorneys make. The Oklahoma County district attorney's salary is $121,884, according to state payroll records.
