Drew Edmondson's new ad analyzed

Editor's note: This is one of a series analyzing advertisements in the political races. Attorney General Drew Edmondson is seeking the Democratic nomination for governor. He faces Lt. Gov. Jari Askins in a July 27 primary.

What the ad says: "He got Oklahoma $33 million cracking down on Medicaid fraud, $2 billion from the tobacco companies. But what Drew Edmondson is most proud of, is getting Southwestern Bell to create a $30 million trust fund for computers in Oklahoma schools." Edmondson says, "In tough fiscal times, all this made a real difference. As governor, I'll fight just as hard to increase teacher pay and prepare our kids for high tech jobs." Voice over: "Drew Edmondson, tough enough to get it done."

What the ad shows: A rural road, and a message flashes across the screen, "$33 million cracking down on Medicaid fraud." A shot of school and "$2 billion from the tobacco companies." The next shot is inside a classroom where students are using computers at their desks, "Got Southwestern Bell to create $30 million trust fund," flashes across the screen.
