— Police hope to identify a woman who wore underwear on her head as a disguise Tuesday morning when she reached inside a McDonald's restaurant drive-through window in Midwest City and swiped cash from a register.

A cashier noticed money was missing from a register at the 24-hour McDonald's, 7025 SE 15, about 3 a.m., and a manager reviewed surveillance video to find out what happened, Police Chief Brandon Clabes said. The video showed a woman in the parking lot dressed in black pants, a black shirt, gloves, underwear on her head held in place with yellow paper clips and possibly a blond wig.

The woman was walking toward the drive-through window but she walked away when a car pulled in nearby, Clabes said. The woman then returned to the window, slid it open and opened the register with a cash drawer key. The employee who was working the drive-through was elsewhere in the restaurant when the burglary occurred.

The incident is at least the second offbeat crime involving a woman at a metro McDonald's drive-through in the past four months. Oklahoma City police arrested a woman in March whom they accuse of crawling into a McDonald's by way of a drive-through window, knocking milkshakes off a counter and refusing to leave. Store employees told officers the woman placed an order, drove straight to the second window and became irate when they asked her to return to the first window to pay.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the underwear-wearing bandit to call Midwest City police at 739-1306. has disabled the comments for this article.
