The Oklahoma State football team returned to practice Tuesday after getting Sunday and Monday off.

The Cowboys returned to temperatures in the 70s and intermittent light rain and, according to coach Mike Gundy, practiced well in what can often be a sluggish workout after the start of classes.

"We had fresh legs, and the temperature was perfect for the players," Gundy said. "We had a good workout today. The weather certainly helped.

"The couple days off freshened them up a bit. And their attitudes are good."

Said wide receiver Tracy Moore: "The weather was almost perfect. Couldn't ask for better. Once you go through that hard camp and everybody's tired, you come out here and it feels good and everyone's more motivated, you can breathe better and it helps you get back in the groove."

Teed Off

Several Cowboys made the most of Monday's day off by breaking out the clubs for a round at Lakeside Golf Course.

Much to quarterback Brandon Weeden's pleasure, his game hasn't deteriorated with all the attention on football.

"Shot 77. I felt good," Weeden said. "We had a little sixsome. I hit the ball well. Hit the driver better than I hit it all summer I think."

Good enough to tease him, too.

"I was shooting well, then I went bogey, par, bogey to finish," Weeden said. "Didn't play very well at the end."

Hunter With CLASS

Cowboys running back Kendall Hunter has been named one of 30 Football Bowl Subdivision players nominated for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.

The award recognizes athletes who have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
