Complaints about illegal drug and gang activity at Rolling Green Apartments led to an early morning roundup Wednesday in Edmond.

Before dawn, police from Edmond and other law enforcement agencies knocked on doors and served search and arrest warrants at the apartments at 400 E Danforth Road.

Rolling Green residents were happy police were "able to remove individuals who were blatantly trafficking in controlled substances from their complex," said Police Chief Bob Ricks in a prepared statement.

"It is hopeful that this operation will send a clear signal that this type of activity is not going to be tolerated in Edmond," Ricks said.

Ten people were detained and questioned and six of them were arrested. Officers found marijuana, steroids, other illegal drugs and guns, Edmond police spokeswoman Glynda Chu said. More arrests could follow, she said.

Arrested were: Brian Collins, 40, on an Oklahoma County driving under suspension warrant; Phillip Edwards, 25, on complaints of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; Kari Jones, 25, on a county warrant on a bogus check charge; Christopher Thompson, 26, on a municipal traffic warrant; Candace Drink, 21, on complaints of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; and Gary Wilson, 21, on a county felony warrant on an attempting to elude police officers charge.

Chu said an undercover investigation started two months ago.

Jeff Kutner, who lives in the area, said he moved to Edmond three years ago to get away from similar illegal activity in Oklahoma City. He said he was pleased to see law officers wearing protective vests knocking on doors and making arrests.
