MINNEAPOLIS — Richard Mahan and Anita Hill were Lutheran pastors inside a Minneapolis convention hall last summer when delegates for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America voted to allow noncelibate gay and lesbian pastors. Afterward, each cried for different reasons.
