"Shaved Ice for donations" will be the theme at Island Sno on 2nd and Littler in Edmond for the first three days in October.
Matt Allen was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumor in 2009 and continues to put up a vigilant fight to beat this awful disease, writes Joe Jekel, co-owner of Island Sno. The trips to M.D. Anderson in Houston and the overall cost to fight this disease can be staggering. For three full days and nights, 100 percent of all shaved ice sales will be given to the Allens to help with some of their expenses. Island Sno will be donating all the supplies during the three days.
THE GOAL WILL BE SIMPLE: Make as many sno-cones for three days and graciously accept all donations given for the Allen family.
Matt continues to serve as one of the assistant softball coaches for Bishop McGuinness and is transitioning from his position of Athletic Director at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
“His fighting spirit and ‘can do attitude’ is an inspiration to all of us,” Jekel said.
Send an e-mail out to all your friends and join the Island on Oct. 1, 2 and 3, Jekel said, “and lets close down the Island for the season in a big way!”
