Boots have been on the fashion radar for years, but each winter they seem to get more red-hot. Consider this style-meets-function at its best.
For fall, almost every boot style is on the must-have list: peep-toe booties, flat-heeled riding boots, over-the-knee, lace-up military and sexy suede stiletto.
"That's what's so great," said Kelsie Petree, owner of Pink Sugar Shoe Boutique in Edmond.
Women often ask whether they're selecting the newest style, but almost everything is in style, she said.
While a simple, unadorned boot has its place in a woman's closet, often what elevates a boot from functional to stylish are the details: a sprinkling of studs, artfully placed buckles or zippers, wedge heels, lacing.
These are statement pieces, and one pair may not be enough.
"I think women are going to want to purchase more styles, for sure," Petree said. "It used to be that all boots had heels. Now you can wear a flat boot and still be stylish."
