TUTTLE — Anadarko sent a message Friday night against one of the perennial powers of Class 3A.
The No. 3 Warriors kept their undefeated season intact, knocking off No. 7 Tuttle 14-7.
"Anybody that goes against us better recognize that we can beat anybody in any given week," Anadarko quarterback Tyler Melton said. "This has never happened before at Anadarko and it's really special to be a part of it."
Anadarko (9-0) clinches the District 3A-1 title with the win heading into next week's regular-season finale against Weatherford. Tuttle (5-3) plays Marlow next week.
The Warriors led 7-0 for most of the second half before Sheldon Wilson put on a show on Anadarko's first drive of the fourth.
On third and 17 from the Tuttle 41, Melton lofted a pass to Wilson, who made the leaping grab and managed to stay in bounds for a first down.
A play later, Wilson streaked through the Tigers' defense for a 41-yard touchdown.
"It was wide open to the outside," Wilson said. "I just kept plugging along and then it just opened up and I was gone."
Wilson finished with 174 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and 52 yards receiving.
Tuttle answered Wilson's second score to stay in the game as Tanner Koons found Cooper Koons for a diving 18-yard touchdown catch with just less than four minutes remaining.
But the drive took 10 plays and more than four minutes and after Tuttle elected not to onside kick, the Tigers never got the ball back.
Anadarko killed off the rest of the clock, mostly staying on the ground to Wilson, to end the game.
"This is really big for us," Wilson said. "They're a really tough team and to beat a team like that feels really good."
Kyle Bert had 86 receiving yards in the win.
Anadarko's defense held Tuttle to just 194 total yards.
Other than the Tigers' late scoring drive, their best chance at the end zone came on their first drive of the night. Tuttle pushed to Anadarko's 25 before turning the ball over on downs.
